家书 Family Memento

This study case introduces a six-month design research with six communities in Jinniu District, Chengdu City, China, to investigate the past history of families in this area through in-home interviews, data collection and narrative visualization.

The project focuses on the life experiences of the family elders, with photographic representations and reminiscent objects as the main narratives. This Community-Based Participatory Research adopts a collaborative approach in which “two types of community workers act as implementers and the design researcher as facilitator”.
